Kokborok to avail services of International Language Institute [1/18/2012]

Agartala, 18 Jan 2012: Representatives of Kokborok speakers from various organizations and walks of life unanimously welcomed a partnership with the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) for the development of their mother tongue. Ms. Liza Guts, the regional Head of SIL said the Institute was happy to begin a partnership of technical assistance with Kokborok for the development of the language. She was addressing a language workshop held at Don Bosco Peace Centre Agartala on 17 January 2012.

Tring 1422 celebrated across the globe [12/22/2011]

Agartala, 22 December 2011: Tripuris all over the globe celebrated the annual TRING Bisi Kwtal Festival 1422 on 21st December midnight 12 am. Besides being celebrated globally, it was celebrated at 18 different locations throughout the state of Tripura at Rajchantai, Ompi, Karbook, Dasharam Para Khumulwng just to name a few. While the main State Level Tring was celebrated at CHAKUMA KAMI this year, a tribal hamlet near Esrai Barakathal, a good 45 kms from the capital city of Agartala.
The State Level Program was inaugurated by Shri Biswajit Daimary, Hon. MP of Bodoland Assam.

Why I Celebrate 'Tring'? [12/18/2011]

As a student of politics, I have always tried to be dispassionate about 'Tring'. Here, for the first time, I want to be a passionate advocate. And I want to begin with a straight-forward argument Tring is an attempt to rethink the very idea of 'Tripura' by reclaiming a historicized event in the dim past.
